About Wisconsin Court Docket

Wisconsin court dockets are available through connected but distinct public routes. Wisconsin Circuit Court Access provides statewide search for public circuit cases, the court system sets judicial access policies, and county Clerks of Circuit Court maintain the files and docket entries for cases filed in their courts. Municipal and appellate records use separate systems. Finding the right route can take several steps when a matter crosses those boundaries. This privately operated reference site collects the statewide search paths and links readers to the county directory for local court information.

Why We Built This Site

Wisconsin makes public circuit-case information searchable statewide, but the search index and the case file serve different purposes. WCCA can help locate a circuit matter by name or case number, and Wisconsin court rules determine which information may appear to the public. The Clerk of Circuit Court in the filing county keeps the docket history and official case file. That file may include motions, notices, signed orders, and other records that are not shown as images in WCCA. The county link is therefore still important after a statewide search: it identifies the local court that can explain inspection, copy, and certification procedures.

What You Will Find Here

What We Cannot Do

This is an independent reference service, not an office of a Wisconsin court, clerk, or state agency. Its limits are practical and official:

  • We do not issue a certified copy of a docket, order, or filed court document
  • We cannot give legal advice about how a ruling or deadline applies to a case
  • We cannot retrieve or amend an official case file
  • We have no authority to set, change, or confirm a hearing date
  • We cannot seal or remove a court record
  • Office contact details, fees, and settings can change after publication

Only the Wisconsin court or records custodian holding a case can provide its official file or a certified copy. The county directory identifies the local route, but the record must come from its court.

Search Partners

Third-party companies operate the sponsored search boxes found on some pages. They control their services, pricing, and results. If a visitor follows a search tool to a paid signup, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps fund the reference pages. It does not give us control over what a provider charges or returns.
